Did you know that Avenidas has a medical equipment loan closet, for your own use or a loved one? Typical items we carry:
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers and rollators
- Commodes and toilet seat risers
- Shower benches, chairs, and stools
- Canes and crutches
- Small items such as grabbers, sock assists, etc.
- Occasionally, portable ramps, transfer boards, bed rails
To borrow equipment, call 650-289-5400 or email info@avenidas.org with your request.
You will be contacted by staff to tell you if we have the item(s) you need. If the items are available, we will schedule an appointment for pickup.
All equipment will be sanitized prior to lending it, but we do recommend that you sanitize it again once you get it home.
Equipment is free to borrow, although wheelchairs require a $25 deposit paid in advance of pick up.
If you have borrowed equipment you want to return, drop it between 9 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Please thoroughly clean equipment prior to returning it. If the equipment is broken or in poor shape, please get in touch first and then dispose of it.
To donate gently used equipment, please contact us at 650-289-5400 or info@avenidas.org. Our space is limited. Please do not drop off equipment without contacting us first.
