Donate to Avenidas
During this difficult time, your gift to us assures us that we are on the right track, supplying extra support to all Mid-Peninsula seniors in need—not just Avenidas members.
Why Avenidas Needs Your Gift Today

Paying Our People
Our staff members have been working long hours from home to find ways to continue to support our members while we all shelter in place.
Program managers are delivering groceries and everyone from the CEO on down is making phone calls to keep seniors from feeling lonely and isolated.

Launching a Remote Resources Portal
Within days of announcing the temporary closure of its facilities, Avenidas launched “Avenidas Without Walls,” an online resource hub for seniors.
In addition to an entire page devoted just to essentials like financial help and food, we’ve published 33 resource posts (and counting).

Providing Expert Guidance
Avenidas Care Partners and Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center sponsored a series of 5 Town Hall meetings on Zoom.
Avenidas members had the opportunity to ask experts like Dr. Mehrdad Ayati, Dr. Grace Nadonly, Dr. Marina Martin, and Dr. Ellen Brown their questions about what to expect during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and how seniors can stay safe and healthy.

Creating Virtual Classes
Avenidas is now offering dozens of classes and activities online. All these classes were free during the month of April. Many of them still are.
From “Standing Strong” to Shakespeare, line dancing to lip reading, Cantonese to karaoke, Avenidas can help you keep your mind and body active—even in your living room.

Offering Crisis Interventions
Avenidas Care Partners Manager Paula Wolfson is coaching families and patients over the phone as they navigate hospital admissions, ER visits, skilled nursing home stays, and assisted memory care units. Call (650) 289-5438 for help.
What Avenidas Members Say about our Coronavirus Response
In the Geri-Team meeting yesterday the case managers expressed their appreciation for the Avenidas website. The resources that we provide have been invaluable to the other case managers on the team. Some reported it to be their go-to resource list when helping their clients.
