Safety and Awareness: A Bilingual Community Education Event (Video)

April 26, 2021

Join the Palo Alto and Los Altos police to discuss the harassment, discrimination, and violence our Asian and Asian-American community members are currently facing. Learn about different types of disrespect, from microaggression to violence, how bystanders can safely intervene, and how community members can stay safe. Time will be reserved for Q & A with the police officers.

This session will be presented in Mandarin & English.

歡迎來臨出席與帕洛阿爾托及洛斯阿爾托斯警察⼀起討論我們亞裔及亞裔美國⼈ 社區成員當前⾯臨之騷擾,歧視和暴⼒。了解從不同的程度的襲擊或暴⼒及不同 類型的不尊重⾏為旁觀者如何安全地進⾏⼲預,以及社區成員如何保持安全。活動將保留與局⻑們提問時間。

  • Watch and share the COVID-19 Hate Crime PSA – 中文
  • Support stopaapihate.org (You can also report incidents.)
  • Learn how to intervene: Hollaback offers the “5 Ds of Bystander Intervention (Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct)” for supporting someone on the receiving end and redirect the situation.
  • Be an “Upstander:” The Bully Project offers “10 Ways to be an Upstander” with ways that a person can intervene and stand with the targeted person.
