This weekend was very eventful for the Avenidas Rainbow Collective. On Friday, Monica and I attended the Cupertino flag raising ceremony where I presented a short speech on PRIDE and what it means to see the rainbow flag flying on the flag pole of Cupertino City Hall.
On Saturday, June 11th, the Avenidas Rainbow Collective celebrated PRIDE together at the San Mateo County Pride Event. We had an amazing time together as we took over the older adult section at the event and showed San Mateo County our collective PRIDE.
This was the first time for many of us to see each other in person and it was great that we were able to come together and celebrate our LGBTQ holiday together. We enjoyed fantastic entertainment, delicious food, and great company as we got to know each other better and even made new friends in our very comfortable Avenidas Rainbow Collective booth.
To those of you who were able to attend the event we thank you for your company. If you were unable to attend don’t worry: we have plenty of more opportunities for you to join the fun coming up this summer.
If you have any questions about how to join the Avenidas Rainbow Collective please contact Thomas Kingery by emailingLGBTQ@Avenidas.org or by calling (650) 289-5417.
Happy Pride, everyone!
