Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center has been in operation since 1976. We provide support to people with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke, chronic conditions, physical and mental health limitations, and those at risk for falls.
Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center is continuing to enroll new participants. If you are interested and would like to learn more, please contact Emily Nagaonkar at or call Kristina Lugo:

Activity Packets
In addition to publishing its monthly activities calendar, the Avenidas Rose Kleiner Activities Team assembles and mails out more than 90 Activity Packets to our participants each week!
These packets include Current Events and Travel Class handouts, Art and Craft project instructions and step-by-step photos to do at home, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, Dot-to-Dot puzzles, Mazes, and lots of coloring pages.
We personalize the packets based on feedback that we receive during our Zooms and our social and reassessment phone calls.
In this photo, Cecilia C showcases two months’ worth of coloring talent.
Zoom Activities and Classes
We are “Zooming” at ARKC! Our participants are enjoying Loretta’s “Coffee and Chat” on Tuesday mornings, Live Exercise Class with Eileen on Thursday afternoons, and Dina’s “Zoom for Spanish-speakers” on Friday afternoons. Emily will soon be adding a “Men’s Group” Zoom to the calendar.
The participants love to see each other, along with the ARKC staff members who “pop” in weekly. We’re tailoring our Zooms to fit our demographic & individual needs…and adjusting as we go.
In addition, we are scheduling one-on-one Zooms for participants who don’t fare well (or are not appropriate) on a group Zoom. The participant gets 1:1 uninterrupted attention AND it provides a brief respite for the spouse/caregiver.
Our Physical Therapy/Rehab team has also been doing 1:1 exercise sessions via Zoom.
ARKC YouTube Channel
Staff at the Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center have been recording videos for participants and sharing them on their new YouTube Channel.
Here are a few of the videos you can watch: Story Time with Eileen, Art Appreciation with Judy, Standing and Seated Exercise with Dina and Eileen, plus honeybees, cooking lessons, cats, birds, and beautiful flowers.
Subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss any new videos.
Outdoor Activities & Exercise
Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center staff accompany members on walks in the fresh air and sunshine—sometimes for a little curbside refreshment, and sometimes with canine companions.
In this photo, Grant and Dina hold up the drinks they bought on their socially distant visit to the coffee shop.
Socially-Distanced Deliveries
While we work on ramping up and organizing our Friendly Visiting program, we have been making occasional deliveries and care-package mailings to our participants by request.
Earlier in the pandemic, ARKC staff members delivered groceries, sanitizer, masks, gloves, and toilet paper to these vulnerable members of our senior population.
In this photo, Steve F. works on some puzzles sent from ARKC and has his Reminisce magazine ready for some light reading.
If you are looking for a safe and supportive environment in which your loved one will feel stimulated, comfortable and cared for, you’ll find that the daytime options offered by the Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center can be the best choice for your family.
