(Palo Alto, CA, Dec. 20, 2021–) The Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market board celebrated its 42nd year serving the Palo Alto Community by approving a $25,000 donation to Avenidas for 2021. The Downtown PA Farmers’ Market got its start back in 1980, thanks to initial seed money and assistance from Avenidas. Since then, the Market has donated nearly $650,000 to Avenidas.
“Our special relationship with Avenidas is more important than ever, as seniors suffered the most economically from the COVID-19 pandemic, so the Market is happy to make this important investment in our local community.”
Robert McDiarmid, Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market Board President
“Avenidas is so grateful to the Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market for their unwavering support and generous donations each and every year for the past 42 years. These types of gifts allow us to expand our services when needed to help more people in different ways, especially during the global pandemic.”
Avenidas President & CEO Amy Yotopoulos
