Getting your annual flu shot is important and it’s especially important for older adults and people with underlying health conditions. As you know, Avenidas buildings will remain closed at least through the end of 2020. We will not be hosting our annual Flu Shot Clinic this year at any of our sites (450 Bryant, Cubberley, or the Rose Kleiner Center).
However, there are still many options available for getting your vaccine:
- Make an appointment with your primary care provider.
- Pharmacies, as well as grocery stores and retailers with pharmacies (such as Target), offer the flu shot. Medicare Part B will usually cover the cost.
- Medicare Advantage plan subscribers may need to get their vaccine from an in-network provider.
You should always check with your insurance to find out where you can get your flu shot and ensure it will be covered.
