Meet the Artist: Kirti Bassendine

Kirti Bassendine is a fine art photographer and storyteller based in California. her work weaves together still photography and short films to tell cultural stories. As an artist, she has always been intrigued by human relationships and how they interweave with different social and cultural contexts.
Kirti is the current Artist-in-Residence with the City of Palo Alto Public Art Program. The Artist’s Residency project will focus on diverse, underserved communities residing and/or working in Palo Alto and experiencing socio-economic or housing instability. The project goal is to spark conversations about inclusion, equity, and a sense of belonging and will result in a final temporary artwork displayed on King Plaza. She is gathering information and stories that will inform her artwork.
Join us to learn more about Kirti, her project, and how you can participate. We welcome stories about your experience living in Palo Alto, including personal stories of housing insecurity, rent burden issues, and experiences advocating for more affordable housing.
Location
This is a hybrid event that takes place both in-person and on Zoom. Zoom logon information will be emailed to registered participants the day before the event.
