When you make a planned or deferred charitable gift to Avenidas, you create an enduring legacy to benefit seniors and their families. Your gift will enable Avenidas to continue providing services for low- and moderate-income seniors. In the process, you will receive income tax and/or estate tax deductions for the value of your gift. Please consult with your financial advisor and attorney before making any planned gift.
We can facilitate many types of planned gifts:
- Retirement Plan Assets
- Life Insurance
- Lifetime Use Gifts
- Charitable Trusts
For more information on planned giving opportunities, please contact Vice President of Development, Mary Hohensee, at (650) 289-5446.
Avenidas is an Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3) organization which may receive tax-deductible contributions. Our tax identification number is 94-1480548.
Does Avenidas have an endowment?
Yes. When our endowment was first established by a very large gift in 1997,
Avenidas was delighted. We are proud to say that we have oversight over our
endowment monies. Members of our board of directors staff the investment
committee and watch over this fund.
Can I give to annual operations instead of the endowment, or otherwise restrict my gift?
Avenidas is happy to have you designate the work you want to fund, whether that be our current operations or our endowment for future growth—it is truly your choice.
How do I go about leaving a legacy gift to Avenidas?
The process is actually quite simple. You can designate a life insurance policy or an IRA to Avenidas, or name Avenidas in your will or estate. Additionally, you don’t have to change your entire will if you want to add Avenidas. We recommend that you work with your attorney to make this planned gift.
