Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia / 解阿滋海默症和失 智症-邀請阿滋海默症協會主講 (#7575)

This education program will be presented by the Alzheimer’s Association.
Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Join us to learn about: the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, Alzheimer’s disease stages and risk factors, current research and treatments available to address some symptoms, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.
Discovering the Hidden Histories of San Jose Japantown / 探索聖荷西⽇本城背 後的隱藏歷史 (#7733)

Part of the Learning Chinese Culture in America Guest Speaker Lecture Series.

Before the Japanese, before the Filipino, before any other Asian community in San Jose, there were the Chinese. Did you know that five Chinatowns existed in San Jose? And did you know that the fifth Chinatown, Heinlenville, provided the nurturing environment that gave birth to San Jose Japantown? Join us to learn and discover the historic and cultural treasures of San Jose. The Chinese Historical and Cultural Project will discuss “Heinlenville” Chinatown, the Ng Shing Gung Temple, and the interconnected histories of Chinese in San Jose.
