Are you seeking assistance for your parents?
Are you starting to worry about your parents’ health? Are you concerned that your parents’ living arrangements might not be working for them anymore? Do you need a break from caring for your parents? Do you live in a different area than your parents and are concerned that you can’t be there to help them?
Then call Avenidas. We are here to help you help your parents. We can do that in many ways.
If you are looking for a warm and supportive daytime environment for your parents, you could enroll them in our Avenidas Rose Kleiner Senior Day Health Center, located in Mountain View. This program provides everything from local transportation to and from the center to group exercise, health monitoring, a nutritious lunch planned by a registered Dietician, and numerous therapies (physical, occupational and speech therapy) should your parents require them. In addition, your parents can choose the activities they'd like to get involved in each day, from gardening to music appreciation to art projects and more.
Another option for your parents, if they would like to stay in their home as they age, is to give them the gift of a membership into Avenidas Village. This is a cost-effective support system that gives you peace of mind, and your parents access to the services and activities that they want now, and may require later. The Avenidas Village staff can be called upon to help with any concern, whether large or small.
You can also contact our Information & Assistance team, and they can refer you to a variety of helpful resources, even in other states. Another effective solution for you and your family is to call us at (650) 289-5438 for a free initial phone consultation. We’ll listen carefully to your concerns, answer your questions, and offer suggestions. Then, if you like, we can move forward with the next steps, including a professional consultation. We’ll conduct an in-depth meeting with you and any family members to gather information, clarify concerns, establish priorities, and provide immediate crisis intervention, if needed. You may determine that you’d like us to provide a comprehensive assessment of your parents and their living situation.
Once an assessment has taken place and a full report has been written, Avenidas can provide service coordination, monitoring, and follow-up services, including phone calls and in-home visits to ensure that all issues have been satisfactorily addressed.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by handling arrangements for your parents and providing care, you can attend our Adult Child Support Group. This is a great place to talk through your feelings, to hear how others have handled similar situations, and to receive unconditional support.
Call us. We can help you ease your worries about your parents, and ensure they receive the care they deserve.
