Staff
Vickie Epstein, Program Director
Vickie Epstein earned her MSW degree from Saint Louis University in Missouri. She conducted most of her early work in hospital settings, including five years at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. Vickie was recruitment director for Child Advocates and served as Director of Program Services for the Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos.
Elizabeth Guare, Manager
Elizabeth has a B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York. Elizabeth comes to us from the Staff Services office for the Esther B. Clark School at the Children's Health Council and has significant experience in the field of non-profit management and in providing exemplary customer service.
Dana Rhine, Member Services Coordinator
Dana has a BA from UCLA and has worked and volunteered extensively in fields that embraced her academic passions of education and medicine, especially those that support children and seniors. Most recently, she was the coordinator of the Connection Center at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, which provided her the opportunity to play a variety of roles from streamlining processes, to librarian-type duties, to coordinating an array of volunteer teams.
She will be working closely with the Los Altos and Los Altos Hills members in order to fine-tune and expand the services specific to that area and to grow the community through Avenidas’ unique social/educational connections and volunteer outreach. She looks forward to meeting all of you and if you live in the Los Altos area and have questions, concerns or ideas, please call her at (650) 289-5407.
Strategic Alliances
Avenidas Village has developed alliances with medical providers to help assure that when a member has a question or problem when hospitalized, we will be able to assist them as requested. Our current alliances include Palo Alto Medical Foundation, El Camino and Stanford University Hospitals, and Kaiser-Permanente.
Avenidas Village Advisory Group 2010
This aging-in-place program was designed by members of the mid-Peninsula community, together with the nonprofit senior services agency, Avenidas. This group worked together for 18 months to create a viable program that would help seniors stay in the homes they love.
